For television actress Ami Trivedi, her trip into the entertainment world has been like a "platter laid" especially for her. With a family background of theatre persons, the small screen 'Kittu' finds it but natural to be interested in acting. She herself has been actively involved with theatre for over eight years now.
While talking about her entrance in the television world, Ami admits, "I didn't even get my photographs clicked for self promotion. I just went for the audition of Kittu Sabh Janti Hai on the insistence of a co-ordinator and the next thing I knew was that I had bagged the role."
While Ami has had a brief stint with anchoring previously, she finds it different from the present show Indiadhanush (NDTV Imagine). She explains, "It's a more realistic genre that deals with the Indian culture and its different facets. It is fun to host the show since I get to know so many new facts about India. Moreover, working with Sidhharthji has been a learning experience. He has a striking persona and I look up to him as a fatherly figure."
With a smart line up of projects keeping her busy throughout the month, Ami hardly finds time to pursue her hobbies, dancing and listening to music anymore. Apart from Kittu ... and Indiadhanush , she has also another show, Zaara . Nevertheless, she intends to start a production house of her own in the near future apart from trying her hands at Bollywood.
While marriage definitely isn't on the cards in the near future, as "my entire focus is on my career as of now. I don't have a boyfriend. I don't believe in the funda of having boy-friends, I'm a very conservative person and believe in commitment. There'll only be a husband for me." So, what is it that she would be looking for in her guy? She replies, "I look for commitment, love, honesty and very expressive eyes. I would need pampering as well, at times."
