To smile (or cry for that matter) through that half an hour everyday on our television screens, TV industry slogs down its day and night. Where scripts become the ultimate ringmasters and there is hardly any space to add your extra bit and give it your creative touch, won't you get exhausted from such a life?
Ami Trivedi is one actress who is been managing two daily laugh-riots and is been winning over the audience in both of her roles. So how does she manage it after all, doesn't she get bored? She sounds as chirpy as any of her on screen characters as she says, "No, not at all, especially because I am working in comedy soaps. Yes, I do work 30 days a month, and do have 10 to 12 hour shifts, but unlike many other genres of television, we have a lot of freedom for performance. A person like me who is into this profession because of her sheer love of acting would only seek for the creative space and satisfaction which I find every day. We don't just read lines or do as told but there is space to give your inputs, make changes, add your nuances and paint your own character in your own way. This is more than enough to keep you excited."
It appears that comedy shows do have space to grow into memorable characters in smaller or bigger role in comparison to other daily soaps. Comedy may be called a difficult genre of acting, but so is said that it can give an artist a lot more creative satisfaction.
